We will try to start games 15 min early for each game. We will try to start at 8:15am.

We will be selling SuperBowl Squares for $30 at the central table. The Poster was “misplaced” at the indoor facility, so a new board is being produced. I have 17 squares sold and will ask that those who have purchased a square last week email me prior to Sat. Half of the proceed will go to the rental fee and indoor equipment.

I need help at the central table from 8:15am-9:45am or 9:45am-11am.

Outdoor soccer registration will start soon. Registration can take place at the indoor facility 2/6 and 2/13, on line, or at Old St Mary’s on 2/20 from 10am-noon (Near South Little League registration for Summer 2010 will also be available)

There will be no Monday practice due to the MLK holiday.

We have been given the field at 8am, so coaches and players can warm up prior to the early game. I will ask that ALL GAMES start 15 min prior to schedule time to ensure that we fit all games. IF your game is scheduled for 8:30am, we will try to start at 8:15am, if scheduled at 9:15am, we will try to start 9am.

If you have not paid the reg fee, please do so Saturday at the central table.

I still need some central table help from 10-11am.

Uniforms are scheduled to arrive tomorrow, I will have them at the central table.

H1N1(nasal and injectable) and seasonal (injectable) flu vaccines will be avaiable from 9-11am. A portion of the proceed will support the league.

In light of the tragic earthquake in Haiti, we will have a donation can to collect money for the relief effort. 100% of the proceed will go directly to the Red Cross. Please consider giving if you have not done so.

As we start week #2 for indoor soccer, a couple of reminders:

If you have not done so, please bring your reg fee ($70) to the central table on Sat 1/16. If you are new to the league or getting a new uniform, there is a $15 additional cost.

If you are able to help work the central table on Sat 1/16, let me know. I have 2 shifts, 8:15-10am and 9:45-11am

All Thurs teams will have practice on the large field from 6:30-7:15pm.

There will be a Super Bowl Squares Fundraiser for the next 3 saturdays. You can purchase a Square for $30. There will be prizes for 1 and 3rd quarter scores($100), halftime ($300) and final score ($1000) assuming all squares sell.

The 2010 indoor soccer game SCHEDULE is posted! Click on the Game Schedule link to the left. The first game is Saturday, 1/9. I am expecting a uniform delivery on Friday so that uniforms can be handed out at the central table on Saturday.

Don’t forget to bring your registration FEE as cash or check to “Near South Soccer” to the central table on Sat. $70 for returning players/ $85 for new player or players requiring a new uniform.

If you are able to help collect fees or hand out UNIFORMS at the central table on Saturday, please let me know.

H1N1 VACCINES(injectable and nasal) will be available to children and adults on Saturday 1/9 and 1/16 from 9-11am at the central table from the RNs at Shotfairy.com for $20 per administration. A portion of the proceeds will go directly to support Near South Soccer.

I still need several 8u Girls, 10u players and 13u players. If you have friends or neighbors who might be interested, have them contact me.

Rosters are currently available in the Practice Schedule section of the web site. I have emailed 5u and 6u coaches and parents for communication purposes and will send out 8u, 10u and 13u notes tonight. Practice will start 1/4 for Monday teams. Our first game will be 1/9/10. Season schedule will be posted this week.

A couple of important details:

For practice, players can wear shorts or sweat pants, gym shoes or rubber cleats and t-shirt or uniform. Uniforms for new players or new teams will be handed out at the first game. All players should wear shin guards that can be purchased at any sports store. I will have some for sale at the central table ($10).

Don’t forget to bring your registration fee ($70) to the central table at the first game on 1/9. If you are new to the league or need a new uniform for indoor the fee is $85.

I still need a Tues 10u/ Mon 6u coach and a referee. If you have any experience and want to volunteer, we need your help.

I need 2-3 more 13u players and 3-4 more 8u girls. Email me for additional players.

Registration for Near South Soccer League Indoor 2010 will start today for children ages 4-13y. If you played with us in the 2009 spring season, you will not need to fill out a registration form again. Teams will fill on a first come, first serve basis:

Email to me the name, date of birth, and previous team for your child from 2009. Also include day of the week for practice which I will do my best to honor. Also indicate volunteer status as coach, central table or set up staff.

Payment can be mailed to me at 3135 S Giles, 60616 or brought to the first game on 1/9/10 in the form a check for $70 to Near South Soccer League/AYSO 1516.

For new players, please download the attached form and mail to me with a check for $85 which includes the cost of a new uniform.

The season will run from 1/4/10-2/13/10. There will be games on Saturdays for 40 min between 8:30am and 11:30am. Practice will be on either M, Tu, W or Th after 5:30pm for 45 min. All games and practice will be at Chicago Indoor Sport at 3900 S Ashland.

We will attempt to keep teams generally the same from outdoor to keep uniform cost down. I will have eight 5u and 6u teams, four 8u boys and four 8u girl teams, four 10u teams and four 13u teams. Teams will fill on a first come, first serve basis.
